what is the real reason cm punk didnt perform at unforgiven?

He was booked to be in the main event in the scramble match but didnt enter it because he was "kicked in the head by randy orton" but as everone knows that was the entertainment side of it and was part of the storyline.
I know they have had to change wrestlers in events before such as john cena, but this was when he was REALLY injured and needed surgery. Does anyone think it is weird for them to give punk the money in the bank and then make him lose the title like that?? without even defending it?? I was expecting quite a long run with that!
I can understand them creating a storyline with randy orton but why not put him in the match and have orton come to the ring and cost him the title or something?? WHY DID HE NOT COMPETE IS THE QUESTION!

No it was just a storyline for randy orton

He did not compete because he agreed to lose the title that day and Remember this is a 5 person match and Orton is "Injured" so why attack Punk at that momment when you can do it before the match

Randy Orton isn't cleared to wrestle so that was the perfect opportunity to give them a feud. Punk will be pissed Randy cost him his title. It's just a feud builder.

I really don't know, I know they're gonna have a feud between him and Orton. But yeah it is lame that he didn't even have a chance to defend it.
