Child Course At College?
I am 26 yrs old and wanna do a course at college for child care, work towards an NVQ and that. I worked in a playgroup(voluntary) for approx 18 months about 4 yrs ago and I really loved it. I'd really enjoy doing it again and wanna do it properly by going to college. Thing is we am expecting our 2nd baby in 6 weeks, g/f is on maternity leave and she said if she can she wants to take extended maternity leave so that I can go to college and do this, we ain't sure tho if she will be entitled to any benefits beings she will be on extended maternity leave. I wouldn't get nothing cause I am/would be in college full time. How would we stand and does anyone know what we could do, after all I wanna better myself but still have a family of my own to support. This is something I feel very strongly about doing but I wanna know that I or my g/f can survive and wanna know what money I can get, if not I guess the g/f has to return back to work and the kids into childcare or I forget the whole idea but that's not something I wanna do but my family come first. Please any help would be great. College looks like my only option, no where will take me on until I have my NVQ. Thanks in advance.
