Absolute crap - I was into classic cars in the '80s & '90s when they were changing hands for silly money, but now there's no way on earth, regardless of condition, specification, history or provenance that it's worth much above half that value. For example;

He is in a time warp! The days of silly prices when people or groups of people were buying classics as investments have gone - the bubble burst and a lot of people got their fingers burnt.

Nowadays he would have to have something truly exceptional to make half that sum. I know it is not a direct comparison by any means, but the bodyshop my son works in did a ground up bare metal restoration on a Triumph Stag during quiet periods, all work done by qualified tradesmen. When they sold it - after advertising it for weeks and weeks - it brought half what they originally hoped to get for it.

Very much doubt it. E-Types nowadays start at £15k for MOT'd but shabby ones, rising to £35-£40k for a really nice Series One 4.2 convertible in excellent condition. The only way it might be worth anything close to £80k is if it's either got some interesting history like being owned by someone famous or some motor sport credentials, or if it is ABSOLUTELY concours condition, as good if not better than it left the factory.
