How to make a mold that i can shape sheet steel on?
What im trying to do is make a replica petrol tank for a motorcycle.
I have exhausted all other avenues and this is my last option.
-There are no replacement tanks in the world.(ive asked everywhere)
-Having one made in alluminuim would cost too much
So i was wandering how can i make one either from sheet steel or alluminum.
My main problem is that i want to make some heavy duty molds that i can clamp the material to and begin to shape it- ideally make a diy mold to press sides, top and base and then weld it together
What im struggling with is how to make a mold on a budget( a company would charge too much to make me a mold). I had thought of using some type of wood or perhaps there is a substance like concret that i can pour to take a copys off the original tank - yet is strong enough to withstand a hammering.
