What is more important in primary schools that sport should be fun or competitive?
Sporting activities are more important than ever in reference to childhood obesity. Many of us look back on sport and are turned off by early experiences; of ridicule and embarrassment because of lack of ability. Children with good sporting ability will be picked up in seniors or by parents. Emphasis should be on encouraging physical activities as accessible and fun for all not as elitist. How many top sports men or women will one primary school turn out verses how many obese teens and adults. Prioritise for our children’s futures as a species we can survive with out so many top tennis players or footballers; but for the first time life expectancy is dropping.
