Default USA school kids ... UK school kids ???

I've noticed that... teenagers in USA are alot bigger than teenagers in the UK.
By bigger, I don't just mean fatter. I mean they're taller and they look older.
For example, sixteen year olds in USA look far older than sixteen year olds in the UK. I don't know why. I thought perhaps because in USA most school kids don't have to wear a uniform like they do in the UK, so it gives an illusion of them being older. But, I don't think that could be right because they genuinely look bigger.
They look older. Why could this be?

USA kids stay on at school 'til their 18 dont they? We only stay 'til we are 16. But idk why they'd look older, I dont think they do. But our school is really strict on uniform, no gel in hair, no makeup, no jewelry, no hair dye, no orginal hairstyles. Yeah its sucks. Thank god ive left.

Do kids in U.K eat the same kinds of food, because maybe it is all the chemicals and growth hormones that most Americans eat.

it could also be what the kids have seen on tv or done before the turn sixteen that could make them look older it doesn't have anything to do with what they wear

I feel like its not just the uk. I went on vacation to amsterdam last year and all the kids my age (im 17) looked really young. Maybe because we are all caught up in the media here, and we rush to be older. But other than that i feel like just in general, like the faces and stuff, not even how we dress. Im not sure it is kind of weird. Maybe its all the hormones in the meet and food we eat.

Probably because the kids in the USA have a harder life. They have to get out and work at 15 and 16 to earn their keep. Also the sun is out more in the USA which will make you age. England does not get alot of sun from where I sit at the moment. American schools have gone to uniforms in most places now, only a few are allowed common clothing, for example, private schools are allowed jeans etc. Public schools wear uniforms.

it's so true. i believe it's the culture that we're exposed to. Such as getting makeup ideas from magazines and same looks. We in the U.S.( well the teens) express ourselves by what we see on t.v. and other media related organizations. clothing lines are becoming more mature which gets to us and makes us look way older...hope i helped ..

When i see teenagers in the usa they seem to wear alot more make up than teens in the UK. They also seem to develop quicker (biologically), this could be diet related!
