I've done a PGCE in London and I hope to return to Ireland next year. I was wondering how the primary ed system is different. I know that Irish is the main language, and children have to buy books, bring lunch. Are there any other major differences? Is the standard a lot higher in primary schools in Ireland than in England? Thanks.
