People in Spain are much more active, politically, than Americans.
There are something like thirty parties, and they need to coalesce to get anything done. (like four different Communist parties, and 3 socialist parties, something like that, it's CRAZY! - and they coalesce across lines that we would never expect).
They have a king, Juan Carlos, but he has very little power, and is like the Queen of England (in fact, of course, they are related). He's more of a figurehea, but the royal family is very down-to-earth.
