Why are UK politicians such wimps ?

Why are they so scared to voice the opinion of the electorate and constantly bow down from their beliefs when put under pressure from the few top people who can cause them problems if they don't conform.
It seems the fat cats at the top just want the cream.

To be honest,I have sometimes often wondered that very same question myself.
Politicians in Westminster may appear fools when it comes to implementing certain policies!But when it comes to self political survival!Well!That is another ball game.
You see !They have got used to a a very good lifestyle,influence,manipulating expenses,and guaranteed honours at the end!
I notice that Ken Livingstone has been doing the TV interview rounds on behalf of Gordon Brown!The question I am asking myself is! Is Ken Livingstone trying to reinvent himself and for doing a bit of 'toadying'! May get a safe constituency in London?
It is said that Gordon Brown has by passed the Labour Party Chief Whip and has obtained the services of a certain Assistant chief Whip,known as the 'Rottweiler' who is doing the political rounds,doing what he knows best!A threat here!A threat there!Intimidation here!Possible Government Office job there!If they vote for Gordon Brown!
But Gordon is unfortunately a vote loser!
The Labour Sheep at Westminster are beginning to turn on the toothless, claw less, clueless wolf Gordon!The political knives are glinting,sharpened and ready to strike at the Labour Party Conference!

They are so obsessed with being politically correct, not offending the huge swathes of 3 generations of immigrants they now largely depend on for keeping their jobs, they've sold the UK down the river out of self-interest. And apart from telling lies, falsifying statistics, forging the now dicredited idea of 'multi-culturism' - with the tail wagging the dog - they've got away with it by suppressing our freedom of speech and other traditions. The human rights nonsense now seems more slanted towards the villains rather than victims but the bungling knaves in Westminster (a large % lawyers) stumble from one blunder to another as we get more and more dis-united.
Seems to me we're spinning out of control and New Labour in particular seem incapable of remedying the situation, despite belated and countless cobbled together measures.
The sheer incompetence is unbelievable.
