As a Brit i admire America in so many ways.

One of the things i like the best is your politics.

Could you give me a guide as to how American Politics works?

For example i hear things like the 'Senate' 'House of representative' and 'congress'.

The other thing you need to know is that we are not a true democracy. We are, in fact, a corporate oligarchy. Our system then is much closer to fascism than to freedom.

I think American selfish politics has already failed due to Mr Bush. America who was remembered as the best friend of all nations of the world treated as an enemy of peace. People had lost faith in American politics.
My suggestions are as under.
Use diplomacy for solving international problems and not wars.
Win the hearts of the people of the world particularly the heart of the middle east people, who suffered lot during the regime of Mr Bush and show them that Americans are for peace and not for wars. I think Americans are the best people of the world. They love peace and hate war. Please pay more attentions towards the economy of the America and Americans, which is collapsing.

The Senate is made up of 100 Senators. Each state gets two Senators.

The House of Representatives (aka congress) is made up of 435 representatives. How many Congressional representatives a state gets depends on the states population. The more people that reside in a state, the more congressmen it gets to have.

Whereas the two Senators represents their entire state, the congressional represenative represents only the people that reside inside his congressional district. (the states are divided up into congressional districts).

Our whipping boy is called the President instead of the Prime Minister.

Our House of Lords is called the Senate.

Our House of Commons is called the House of Representatives.

The Royals we lampoon in the tabloids are called the Hollywood Elite.

And we have enough demagoguery & dirty tricks to make any British Politician feel right at home.
