Default How do politicians learn to speak double talk?

without ever giving a straight answer?
And throwing in the party political broadcasts?

EXTREMELY good question. Partly (presumably) it's taught in University, as part of a Politics Course. But mostly, IMO, it's a trait learned in CHILDHOOD, in an UNJUST, ARBITRARY, RULE-CHANGING, GOALPOST-MOVING, FALSELY-BLAMING, WORD-TWISTING household. A household where the kid never won a conflict--ever. There was always a TRUMPED UP REASON, or EXCUSE, or INVENTED EXEMPTION, so dad (or mum) ALWAYS WON. That, I believe, is how you create a politician.

Its not difficult. Its a matter of knowing how to keep your mouth shut, how to leave out facts.

You yourself did it just now. You just said no one ever gives a straight answer, yet both sides have given straight answers in the past.

You left out examples of them dodging questions, so no one can answer to the question since they have no real idea what you are talking about.

If I were to give you an example of straight talk, you could always just say that you meant a different time.

That's not to accuse you of anything, I know you had no second motive other than to ask a serious question. But its much easier to do the double talk than to avoid it; so much so that you and I were both able to do it without even trying to do so.
