Default Office Politics -- Constructive or Destructive ?

Office Politics --Constructive or Destructive ?

Ill nail my flag to the mast --I think Office Politics sucks and is a mostly destructive force that is rife in most medium to large companies

It tends to favour the few and p**s off the masses -trouble is that those few tend to be the people in control and who make the decisions and so the office politics is hard to eradicate

Your thoughts appreciated

I agree. I try to fly under the radar and not take sides with anyone. The danger in this is appearing"snooty". it's a fine line to walk!

I entirely agree with you.

Most problems arise because of poor choice of management staff, especially when it`s a Personnel Officer. A bad one of these can raise havoc and cause much unrest & disatisfacton among the staff. We had such a P.O. in our offices. He ruled the roost, favouring the ones he liked (whether or not they were good at their work) and he made the lives of those he disliked or who tried to argue with him a complete misery. We did have a union rep` but he, too, was terrified of getting the wrong side of this person.

Going to work under these conditions is absolute hell.
