As much as I agree with you, because I haven't set foot in them either, I think a memorial would be of more respect.

They could make a smaller replica of the Twin Towers elsewhere in New York that could be there for tourists only, though.

I think it is better as a mark of respect to the survivors and the familes of the deceased that the area is developed as a place of memorial. The site of the World Trade Centre is symbolic to these people now, and I would feel that it would be disrespectful to build another World Trade centre there. If it were built up again as a trade centre, I would assume it would be for business and to pick up where it was before, but how could people possibly mourn their loved ones in such a place?

It is BECAUSE people loved them that no new building will ever be able to replace them.
They've kept the area as a memorial. You don't go building on graveyards, and that's what it is now....not only for the people who died there, but for a lot of hope and trust that also died that day in America.

They built a memorial instead, to commemorate those that tragically lost their lives. I htink this is a better dedication than building them again

Actually, as a matter of fact, they have already broken ground on their new project, the liberty tower (I think that's what it is called). It's actually only going to be one tower, but it will be colossal, and it had a unique, twisted design.

its not up to the people of new york.and noone ever thought it would have happened to begin with, and anyone who thinks Bin Laden is finished with America,is either very ignorant or a complete fool.

They're planning on building something called Freedom Tower, aren't they? Huge thing with something at the side towering out of it like the arm of the Statue of Liberty?

Something underground might be better...

Have you ever given a dummy to a baby who has just spat it out? They spit it out again.... and again.... and again.

I think the laser-light memorial was a good idea.
