Default Should I pursue my business idea?

I have a business idea, its been with me since 2003, I've seen many other people out there start up businesses that are close to what I want to do but are missing my unique ingredient. My problem is my level of confidence, although I know my idea is fantastic and could be a great earner for myself, it is also franchisable, I just know my limitations. I don't have the money to get the people I need and I doubt there are many who will work with me unless I can pay them. I am developing the website and working through my business plan, but I'm wondering if I should go on. Any advice would be greatfully recieved.

same here the only problem with a website is you cannot patent it, which means you cannot protect it,,which leaves you in the same situation as me,,who do you tell??#

there are certain things you can do,,,get the other party to sign a general confidentiality agreement but this is risky,,so well just have to sit an wait

every one so far has added or pointed out reasons why you should pursue your idea. you have no reason not to go after it. but anyways i found a site that provides some info on things like this.

www.smapitup.com

best of luck and there is no reason not to try.

I'd say you should, you seem like your so sure about the idea making it big... I would definitely see how it goes.
If you can't afford it now, go to a friend/family member and see if they'll help you. Take it slow, try to do it by yourself. It would take longer, but if you can't afford the workers, its better than not doing it at all. Could you take out a loan? It may help.

Good luck!

seriously. do it. think it through properly. maybe see a financial planner. do a 2 year profit projections estimate.

the worst case scenario is that you mess it up, are in a bit of debt for a little while, but hey, you tried !

best case is that you got off your butt and took a chance to believe in yourself. you would hate to be sitting around in 10 years time thinking, I wonder what would have happened if I'd had the guts to try that out!

get some advice first , but do it!!

You said it!!!! You're missing the unique ingredient which is EVERYTHING!!! One of the most important parts to being successful is being unique and difficult to replicate. This can be something like unbelievable customer service or a unique product. Follow your gut instinct when you make your decisions and ask others for advice (if the advice is against your idea try to make an agrument in your head/at home why that person is wrong, if you can't come up with a good argument consider chaning a few things). Did you come up with a business plan? VERY important! Don't feel intimidated by it, just find a buiness plan outline and just try your best and that will be good enough. Even if you have ideas in your head you might see them differently once they are on paper. And I'll say it again, follow your gut instinct.
