nokia E51 not ringing!?

ok i gt this nokia E51 with a bt connection. the problem is... whenever anyone calls the phone just rings once (i mean the ringtone that i am supposed to hear) or sumtimes dosent ring at all and goes to voice mail. however the person at the other end thinks that the phone has rung about 5 times at least....and the phones is not on silent or anything. i have tried changing the tones and everything but dosent work. how do i change the setting so my phone rings as the caller calls?

i had this on my land line phone have you checked if it has a setting for number of rings cause some phones you can have 1 to 6 rings before answer machine incase your in a meeting it would be in settings and sounds i think

check your call filters they might be on happened to me on my boost phone. i don't know where they would be on your particular phone but most likely one or all of them are on.
