You're asking all these after buying the product ?! And by the way, the phone is not exactly new.
WLAN networks can be:
- open
-- free - if you can use then it is free (unsecured private networks, public offerings in open areas ...)
-- charged - you may connect to it but you have to pay to use it (typically in hotels, airports, ... )
- secured
- mostly private/charged but could be also free (like from a university). Can only be accessed if you have the right credentials
So, if you find a WLAN network that you can use it is free. If it is not free, you either can't use it or there will be a price information displayed to you. If you have WLAN at home you can use it for free.
With the navigation is a bit more complicated but if you read the user guide and the information from the link below you can manage it. If you have a unlimited data plan you should not care about the data traffic for satnav alternatively make sure that you download the maps offline and that you disable all features that use the network. Also, while showing your position on the map is free, features such as turn by turn navigation are subject to a license fee.
