Why can't Fox News admit it has just a slight tilt towards Conservatives.

It seems like they are treating their viewers like there stupid sometimes.

The very fact they feel the need to state that they are fair and balanced seems a little too much like trying to convince people they are.Just saying they are doesn't make it so.If anything it's that very point that makes people dubious about the claim.
You only have to watch the interviewing techniques, where if the interviewee who's point they disagree with gets the upper-hand they frantically cut to something else or frequently shout them down as per O'Rielly style.Conservative guests are always given less challenging interviews and never face the same aggressive or derisory tactics.
They've spent the last eight years giving it 'If you're not with us you're against us'. What the hell are they going to do now they're on the outside looking in?

Bill O'Reilly's the worst culprit. He's so condescending when he keeps saying "you, the folks" and I've yet to see him be fair and balanced.

I use to think it was suppose to mean that them being tilted the right makes up for all the other mainstream media being tilted to the left. Obama, before elected, said that he'd probably be a couple points higher in polls if not for them so maybe Fox News does help balance the other liberal networks (MSNBC being very liberal for example.)

As for them not admitting it, I guess it would be bad for ratings. The controversy seems to just get them even more attention. As if they didn't get too much already.

I suppose if you looked at their board of directors, or perhaps their financiers, then the answer would probably become apparent.
