Default News said, to lose weight-1 hour exercise 5 days a week?

People are always told that to lose weight an important factor is to do more exercise. I do 45 mins about three times a week. Then I read on the news that for women to lose weight they have to do an hour five times a week.

I was wondering if people thought that's realistic for their life?

Can it be any exercise? Gym memberships are expensive, and I usually do high impact on the cross trainer, but what would I need to do if I can't afford to renew my gym membership?

As a woman, I don't like cycling in the countryside alone and I can't jog as I have a large chest.

I think the amount of exercise your doing is more realistic for a woman in todays world.
Gym membership is dramatically expensive but i dont think its needed in all honesty. I think that simple exercises like light cardio (walking, running, jogging, etc) are a good thing. Although, i prefer to just go for a long walk as i don't feel as stupid looking and yes, large chests are a differculty too!
I'd suggest that walking, swimming and even 'at-home' exercises like sit-ups/crunches for half an hour a day or so would be more fitting. Things like sit-ups are more more do-able and you can do them while watching the television.

It is hard in todays busy society to find time to exercise and although it may 'only be an hour', its still time that i, frankly, havent got time to use! When i get in, i want to unwind and relax! What your doing and your timing sounds perfect! Keep up with that!

The important thing is to do exercise. If you can't go to a gym and dont want to cycle or run. Then you have to do your exercise at home. My wife and I were in a situation a few years ago where we both needed to exercise but couldn't really go to the gyms etc almost the same as you so we set aside 45 minutes each day. Got changed into gym kit and exercise in the home. we did step ups on the stairs, press-ups and sit-ups and other exercises. We worked up a good sweat then we showered and got changed back into street clothes again. The important thing is to make a clear transition to gym mode and back again and be persistant. If that is too much trouble for you then you don't really want the exercise
buy an exercise bike is another option

any cardio.. walk in place if you have to or do like the step aerobics. You also have to watch your diet to lose weight.
