Of course - Redwatch should be closed down, but equally we shouldn't lower ourselves to their level.
The BNP have always denied anything to do with the site, though it is obvious that they are behind it. Recently two members of my own party were attacked by the BNP. (source 1)
Equally deplorable (though perhaps understandable) is the burning of the neighbour of a BNP member's car. Indiscriminate targeting of people on the leaked membership list is, I think, a bad mistake for anti-BNP activists on the left. We shouldn't lower ourselves to their level and innocent people could be the victims of reprisals. Stay out of it and let the BNP hang themselves with their own rope. They are a weak, divided and incompetent political party.
At the same time, we can't be complacent. We need to demonstrate, leaflet and refuse to be silenced by the bully-boy tactics of the BNP. We need to build a left wing alternative to the failed policies of the main parties, to offer somewhere positive for disgruntled protest voters to go. (source 2)
To the poster saying that the BNP are only doing what anyone other party would do - this ignores the fact that it must have been someone within their own organisation who first leaked the details! The list was password protected and you would have needed to be told the password to get access it. This only shows how divided the BNP is.
