A friend of mine has a ''free'' laptop from AOL and could not get a connection
to the net.? So decided to ring Dell ( not AOL) and they said they would put it back to factory setting ( which he says they have done) but all his downloads,music etc will be lost.They are now going to send him a start-up disk and ''maybe'' a new modem,as he thinks its that.
I did not know anyone could put your PC back to factory settings unless they could actually 'touched' your PC.
Will any of this work? has he lost all his downloads.
Sounds to me like he could not get broadband that day,why ring Dell?
