...when activated. Can deactivate itself. A young mobile phone company,about to engage in a marketing campaign called BOGOF(buy one get one free). Needs a software that would be embeded in the free mobile phone. This would stop anyother network operator's sim being inserted in the mobile handset, apart from the recommended operator. Also this software would be capable of de-activating itself after a period of time. The software should be able to inform the recommended network operator when its been activated.

if you are a new phone company, i assume you will be buying phones directly from the manufactuers, if this is the case, they will network lock the phones for you if required. they will then issue you with codes to unlock them as required.

if you really want software to do it, with the features you described, you will proberly need to develop it yourself, if you are a company i assume you will have some budget set aside for R&D. however bare in mind that most phones can de-active any non manufacture software as a security precaution.

Another hurdle you run into is the different operating systems phones run, you would need software for sybian devices, and for windows devices, and for all the other different OS's handsets run. the only generic app you would be able to write for all the phones would be in java, which isnt a very powerfull language, and again, has more security issues around it, as it is easily deactivated.

network locking the phones would bypass all these issues, and you wouldnt have to do anything yourselves
