Installing the sims 2 on Windows Vista error?

this is the error message that comes up wen i try to install the sims 2:
support/EAHelp/en-uk/rightarrow.gif
i then went on my computer and found rightarrow, but its empty.
any help?

its a few years old so vista was not around when it was made

make sure you windows update is up to date then download the latest patch for the game

here is one link for them, make sure you download them in order from oldest to newest
