Windows Vista Ultimate and office 2007?

I want to buy windows vista ultimate for my laptop but i'm wondering if i also need to buy microsoft office? Doesn't it come as a package ? By installing the ultimate version what would happen to the version i already have? Would it be replaced? would it be on the side ?

If you buy windows vista ultimate, you still need to buy office 07. If you already have an older version of office it will work with vista. But vista and office do not come together.

You don't necessarily have to buy 2007 to use with Vista, but as you are updating the operating system it would make sense to also update the Office package as they work so well together. As you are not buying a new laptop but installing Vista on one you already have, I presume you have checked (and you can do this from Microsoft site itself) that your computer has enough 'guts' in it to be able to run Vista without compromising on speed.
