Nero is a good burning software for music, video and pictures.
But of course, this program is not free. Unless....
If your planning to burn ISO, IMG or BIN files you might want to try powerISO. Been using this one and never failed me even once. But again this is not free.
A lot of good burning software are not free... you could try searching for a freeware.
