Pictures are pictures, are pictures. If they're jpeg or any other image format, then you can use them with any operating system. Its the editing programs which matter, not so much the OS. But there again, you can always right click on the file icon and choose to open with and then select the correct program, i.e. windows photo gallery , or any of the others that you may have such as Photoshop PaintshopPro, Picasa2 etc.

They'll be absolutely fine ... as long as you have the same programme that compiled them on your Vista machine. What I mean is if you saved them in, say, Photoshop as a .psd file, you'll need Photoshop on your Vista machine to view them. (Actually, there are programmes available that will allow you to view a wide range of formats, but that's going to unnecessary expense.)

Your pictures will transfer perfectly.

Just put them on a CD and save them in .jpeg or .jpg format. That way you will have a backup and be able to move them between computers in the future.

I have my entire family album moved onto Vista.

And they still look the spitting image of the Addams Family )
