Default Problem with Windows Vista Service pack?

Almost every time i go online with internet explorer on my laptop wirelessly, after an hour or so it suddenly crawls to a halt and i can't seem to open or load anymore webpages, everything else on the computer runs fine, its just webpages stop loading and i end up having to restart the computer through frustration as disconnecting/reconnecting doesnt seem to do any good. the fact this has only really started happening since i downloaded the Windows vista service pack 1 recently makes me think its more than likely to be to do with that. Just wandering if anyone else has had similar problems on downloading Windows vista service pack 1 and if something can be done to fix it, or if anyone knows what else it could be causing the problem. Ive already sent an email of to Microsoft but thought id give this a try while i await theyre reply. thanks in advance

I have Vista as well.

Used to XL and didn't realise new computer came with Vista.

It is a piece of junk. All sorts of problems and people aren't used to it so can't sort it out (BUT admit they are having lots of problems) and when you mention it is Vista they go quiet and you know they hate it as well.

I've had trouble with upgrades and WMV doesn't work at present.

Sorry can't help you but hope other people reading this will insist on XL if they are buying a new machine!

I installed Vista service pack when it first came up as part of my regular updates on both of my computers and it hasn't affected how either of them run. The problem that you describe has probably got more to do with either spyware or viruses. Have you tried running virus and spyware scans on your computer? Also clearing out your search history and deleting other unused junk might help. If you don't have it already, try installing and running CCleaner. This is a great tool to have and helps keep everything running nicely. It's available as a free download. Just goggle search CCleaner. Also run Spybot Search & Destroy to get rid of any spyware, which is the most common cause of the symptoms you describe.
