Windows XP Service Pack 3?

Hi there...

Need a little bit of help on this one if anyone could, please.

My updates came through, so let the system have a go at installing everything.

However, upon rebooting, I was informed of the a serious error that had prevented the installation of service pack 3.

That's cool, I'm fine either way. However, the process has taken around 2 gigabytes of my hard drive, and I'm unable to restore to a previous point past the day it all took place.

So, the upshot is, I still have Service Pack 2 installed, but i've lost 2 gig of hard drive which I could do with.

Is any of the information able to be deleted, or should I leave things as they are.

right click my computer select manage and open the event view. find the error that pertains to the SP3 instillation and click the link to microsoft. that should tell you how to resolve the problem so that you can get it to install. By the way restore points are a snap shot of your systems configurations it has nothing to do with data so restoring you system isn't going to remove programs.
