Default How do I reinstall Windows XP?

I have windows XP pre installed on my laptop, since a virus which is now gone, some of the sittings seem to have changed. I think a reinstall would help, but i have no disks etc. How do i do it?

You can't reinstall without a Windows disc. The best thing to do is borrow one & use your exisiting product key to reinstall it.

You should first see if you have a restore point that you can go back to and try that. That is if you don't want to loose alot of stuff. But if not, then your best bet is to just find a copy of XP and start over.

Your only options would be either (1) use your system restore disks that typically come with your PC when you get it, or (2) go and buy a copy of Windows XP, and then set your PC to boot up to the DVD/CD drive and reinstall a fresh copy of XP.

The laptop should have come with a recovery disk, which will re-install Windows and a few other factory settings. If you bought it second-hand, and didn't ask for the installation disks, you will either have to pay for a copy of XP, or not pay for it (if you see what I mean).
