How can i copy a file in linux?

i m trying to copy a file from windows folder (ntfs partition) to linux .bin folder (ex3 partition) but its not working. It showin restriction in copying. I use cp command as well but tht command working for linux to linux copying but for copying file from window partition to linux its not working.I am using Fedora version.Actually i have to copy a driver for wireless deivce into .bin/firmware folder from my window folder. HOW TO DO THAT??

Is the windows partition mounted? Mount the windows partition. YOu may need to do it with root privlidges, so do a

su

before the command to copy.
