I am looking to buy a mini notebook and see most of them have Linux?

As an average sort of computer user is it wise to use Linux or should I stick with Windows.
Maplins are selling a very very basic notebook with Linux for £119 which they say are good enough for e-mails and surfing. Any ideas please

Yes, I've noticed that too, and as a constant computer user, taking a laptop wherever I go, have thought about also buying a notebook. At the moment I have absolutely no experience of linux but hear nothing but good of it so will probably give it a try. After all, as long as one can get ones email which is the purpose I suppose of a notebook, and do basic things while away from home, it's all and good. And really, for that sort of money you can't go wrong.

Linux is fine, i think its better than Windows, ask the bloke what linux it is, it most likly will be ubuntu which is great! its like free windows
