The original Linux operating system no longer exists in it's entirety. Because it is "Open Source" it has been updated, upgraded, revised, modified, tweaked, and generally changed by just about everybody and his second cousin Jim. Each different version is called a "distribution". Each distribution has it's own pros and cons since each one was modified by someone different. That being said...
Linux.com is a great place to get really good distributions of Linux. Of course, they don't have EVERY distribution of Linux, but they've got a pretty good selection of what are considered the best distributions of Linux along with write-ups about each version.
