...plz see comments below...? I have a hard-drive which is coming up with error "drive is not formatted, do you want to format now" etc, obviously i dont want to format as i have 20gb worth or important data which i hope a data recovery software can hopefully restore. the hard-drive with the problem was on windows, but i'm now using linux (ubuntu), what data recovery software should i download for (linux which im using now) or download for windows as that was what OS was on there.

I guess it linux and i'm just being stupid, but i'd like confirmation first...
