By law how much notice should my lanlord give to put my rent up?

I usually pay £400 per month but recieved a letter today saying that when i pay my rent on 10th August i have to pay £425 from then on...is that all the notice they have to give?

Usually if you have a lease he/she should wait until the end of the lease to raise the rent, or unless stated in the lease that with reasonable time (30 days) they will raise the rent.

If in the case that you do not have a lease then he/she can do it, with a reasonable amount.

Do you have a lease? If so then they can't raise the price until the lease has expired.

30 days is generally the expected about of notice for pretty much everything rental-related.
