NHS takes a zero tolerance approach to any form of violence. However, as you are a minor, ensure you have an adult with you when police speak to you. That is your legal right. Also, the chances of prosecution are slim if you can prove that your punch was unintentional and the fact that you are willing to apologise to the staff involved.

I love YA, not only, as someone already points out, are you in the hospital and on the Internet! But someone who used to work for the NHS (yeah right!) answers but does not know what PTSD is!

Priceless!

***EDIT***

Children's ward is it? Nice of them to let you use the computer past midnight! Well glad that you couldn't compose yourself getting out of bed, but had the wherewithall to log in to YA and post a question and several follow-ups!

It will be dependant on the charge if they decide to charge, wait n see what their move is gonna be say nothing can help them suggest it was on purpose, If you claim PTSD them make sure you can prove it exists and how it was responsible for what happened, the other issue maybe is what did you trip over was it an accident caused by something they overlooked on the floor? if so call a no win/fee solicitors. GLuck
