When returning faulty goods what is the law?
I have bought an electrical item that has proved to be faulty. The company accept this and want me to return it. However I would like an exchange, they are saying I can have a refund only, then I can purchase another.
The problem with this is I bought it when on offer so to do this would mean me paying out more.
Am I witin rights to insist on a replacement?
I have had the item 9 weeks and have all receipts etc...
I am in the UK. The product cost around £80 from Tesco and they have others in stock.
The Sale of Goods Act 2003 indicates that stores must offer a refund, repair or replacement, whichever the customer chooses.
But I wanted to know if anyone knew this for a fact as they jargon is not always easy to understand.
I appreciate all answers but as this is a legal matter I need definite answers rather than what people think.
