How are British builders going to feel when they're laid off and having to fight not just their own countrymen but people from the EU for a limited number of jobs?
Marky - not necessarily - if they can still earn more over here than they would at home they will still come and compete for the small amount of jobs which are available.

Fewer jobs would mean fewer immigrants coming over to get them.

Immigrants come here looking for work. Most Eastern European countrues now how a shortage of labour. Many will not risk coming to a country with economic problems and little chance of a job when there are more jobs back home.

Simple market supply and demand forces will apply.

Edit: Link below shows that around half of the immigrants who have come have returned. Most likely more will follow with the downturn.
