Alcohol Limit Whilst Driving In The UK?

I know a few people who have a MAX of two pints of beer whilst they are driving.

And although it is nothing to do with me I tell them if they get pulled over-they are in trouble!

These people are fairly big in size-about thirteen stone and I have seen them after they have had two pints and I would feel comfortable as in if I was a passenger if they were driving.

Just say they got pulled over by the police and were asked if they had been 'drinking-if so how many?
Now this mate of mine would confidently say two pints-and a breath test would follow.

Just say for arguments sake the breath test showed a negative reading. Technically he was over the limit-but the test proved negative.

Could he be arrested in this scenario for DD?
As in he admitted he had two pints BUT the test proved negative?
