Default Why have anti smacking laws been brought in for parents and corporal...

...punishment not allowed in schools? What was wrong with the old way of doing things? The vast majority of parents would not smack their children without good reason and with a proper strength without been dictated to by law.
Thats disgusting 999 and thats what I'm talking about - "the teachers are afraid of the pupils" as Morrissey sang.
It is interesting how it is majority women who disagree with smacking.

I think corporal punishment is wrong regardless of if it is a parent or a teacher. If you hit anyone in this society its a battery, but if you want to hit your kid well that's just fine. This makes no sense, my philosophy is violence only leads to more violence, just my opinion.

Laws are made for the guidance of wise men and the blind obedience of fools.
It was brought in to stop the sadists in the community.

smack, hit, whatever you want to call it, it's never going to make a kid a better person, but neither will not smacking or hitting. you have to love and respect your children. listen to them, do what's in their best interest at all times, and love them unconditionally. you reach for a hot pot, your hand might get smacked. you mouth off to me in a very disrespectful way, you might get hit. coming home with a D should never get you hit, staying out past curfew, on the phone too long, etc. Those are things you deal with verbally. Schools should never "paddle"... no matter what.
