why does internet explorer crash when i load a page that uses java?

i have the latest java update and ie 7
It happens on multiple pages eg yahoo games pages, jigzone.com, jmeeting.com and a few others. Its only happened since i restored my lappy to factory settings and i am lost as to the cause

try clearing the java temp files; go to control panel>java>general

You've already got your answer - IE sucks and is prone to crashing more than any other browser.

Try Firefox - it's faster and more secure, for a start. Or you could also try Opera. I'm giving that a try at the moment just for a change, and I quite like that too.

The main advantage Firefox has over every other browser is the ability to customise it with add-ons. I have mine tailored to exactly how I want it and it's great.

Whichever browser you choose, it will be a lot faster and more reliable than IE.

that's not a lot of information to go on, but are you just trying one webpage or does this happen with multiple webpages?

Well, it's just IE. Try Firefox. You'll probably like it. Especially considering that it's faster and more secure.
