Im putting some adons onto my Firefox. and there is one that stops/filters rubbish Script.......................wot will this do if i put it on, Will it mess with Youtube or othe Video playing aps etc

I have the NoScripts add on in Firefox. It will not mess up anything important. It won't mess up any apps either. It is perfectly safe to install this add on.
If it does mess up any site you are viewing then all you have to do to fix it is left-click on the NoScripts icon at the bottom right of the Firefox window and click
' allow www.example.com '
which will then allow any scripts on the said website to run permanently.
There is also an option to temporarily allow scripts on the website you are viewing. Just do the same as above but instead click
' temporarily allow www.example.com '.
I do know that for the layman, Javascript is essential so you can sign into most encrypted sites, such as bank accounts or even Hotmail.
Without it, you can't even get those sites to allow you to type any characters into the sign in text boxes.
wot is java script...? in laymans terms please?
