Java problems (first correct help gets BEST ANSWER!)?

ok... I recently onstalled Java and everytime I go on anything Java controlled I get this error message (it says Security Exception on the top) - "java.security.PrivilegedActionException: java.io.IOException: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect". Then when I click ok i get "java.lang.NullPointerException". I checked on the Java website but I see nothing resembling this. If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me. Thanks alot.

are you sure you downloaded the correct java package? (or are you a developer?)

If you want java for normal use you should be downloading version 6 update 7:

You should go to add/remove programs and uninstall other versions first (including all jre and j2se)

IN REPLY: First try switching off UAC (Control Panel -> User Accounts ->Turn User Account Control On or Off. )
