Will Sprint HTC Touch wm 6.1 upgrade ROM work on Orange HTC Touch?

I live in the UK so have got a htc touch white from orange, but if the ROM is not windows mobile 6.1 I want to upgrade it. Will Sprint's upgrade work as I know there are slight differences between the two even though they are only different providers (sprintTV being the biggest difference). Also will it mess up the connection to Orange?
