football manager 2009 keeps crashing?

i have installed the game and after 3 or 4 weeks of the season the game continually crashes producing no error message, i have read that if you change the display to ''windowed'' this can fix the problem , on the display option ''windowed'' is greyed out . any help much ppreciated
