Is it possible to actually install Football Manager 2009 as its own program?

Just bought Football Manager 2009 and I had to use a program called Steam to install it.

The annoying thing is that the actual game is not an application, and I can only uninstall it through Steam, you can't remove it in the Remove Programs directory or using CCleaner. I have managed to get a desktop icon and a start menu icon, but it is not actually a proper application, any idea how to do this?

Also, where the hell is the data editor?

I know, I had the same problem with the Demo, I couldn't un-install it in the remove programs, This is a security measure, so people can't copy it and sell it illegally.

What I think is that to un-install the whole football manager you need to un-install steam but I'm not sure. so I'm also interested in the answers you will get.

Unfortunately I wouldn't know where the data editor is as I don't have the game jet
