What's your opinion on soccer in America?

I love the game of soccer. I love to play it, watch it, and be around it. And to know that America is decades behind other nations in the sport is kind of depressing. The question isn't about athletes in America, because everyone knows we grow some of the best athletes in the world. If it was a mainstream sport, then we'd be awesome. I live in the south, and American football is GOD here. Where's the respect at for the sport in this nation?

i hope it does come big in america, also, if it does....america is big and you would get alot of fans for each club...but i wont hold my breath, i think it wont get to be big because you are so hooked on the likes of baseball, american football, and wwf or E< forgot what it is now.lol

id like to say aswell, alot of americans belive football > soccer...is a crap sport, but trust me its the best sport going, we english LOVE IT. especially me. and to me American football, i dont no how you can watch it lol....its like a pantomime.
