The problem with football in general is that all participants are greedy. The clubs over use plays with promotional games. Players have driven up prices too high. Fair enough they deserve to make a living. Take Christiano Ronaldo, he wants out of a 5 year contract after 1 year. FIFA complaining that he is getting trated like a slave by Manchester United because he is not getting released.
Fans don't care anymore (execpt for big games finals ect) people have their own lives to worry about. In the old days you would have loyal players (within reason) who would play most of their career at your club. These days they change every few years. If this pattern continues 80% of european clubs will be broke in the near future. Fans don't want to pay high prices to attend games to pay these massive player payments. The game can afford to pay players a few million per year, but 10-15 million a year, the market can't support.
