Football manager installs but wont run, why?

Im trying to play football manager 2008 on my vista computer. It does not automatically play, and i had to install it by opening the folder manually. It said everything installed successfully, but wont run for some reason. why? Other people have used the same game on the exact same computer with no problem so what am i doing wrong?

I had the same prob too a few months ago, but Vista was just a nightmare for so many things. I decided to get rid of it and put XP on it instead. FM 2008 ran fine then. Just mustn't be compatible with Vista Sorry
