They will help guide you as to what you could do to find work, but to be honest, it's very much up to you.
I would start right now to apply for as many positions as you can because the longer your on JSA, the less likely you are to find work.
Dont dismiss agency work, as it is pretty easy to get and you can quickly move on as better jobs bcome available. It will also help keep you financially solvent until something better turns up !!

most job centres will help you with a cv now and if you really want a job that fast they will help but be careful as they will throw any job at you alot of which are really poor paid agency work at the moment.

Your adverser will either help you or point you in the right direction to get this help if you ask so just ask them

good luck i am sorry i don't know how long it will take you to find a job but remember its easier to get a job if you already have one even if its just working at McDonald's, because it shows potential employers that your willing to work and get out there and do anything

Whilst you are 'job seeking' you should be entitled to free careers advice which if you were working would cost you money. You could ask for an assessment of what job best suites you which is a computer programme - consider trying something new. If your last job was stressful try something completely different. I took a career break as a Bus Driver which is now a transferable skill for example. The careers office could also assist with your CV to be compiled to suite your chosen job seeking path. Some / many employers do not accept CV's as they are not considered 'equal opportunities' anymore. If you want a job you will get 'a job'. When I was younger & really needed a job I worked for the funeral service as I thought no-one else would apply for it - I was right & started the next day! Keep all evidence of job seeking and letters of unsuccessful to evidence job seeking.

You could ask but they never offered to write a CV for me.
I found a job about a week later but it depends how hard you're looking, and luck.
xx
