how do I install this program - disk drive playing up ?

I have a program saved on a dvd disk but when I inserted it into my dvd drive my computer no longer even see that a disk is in my drive, this only happens with the one disk as my drive see's all other disks, so how do I get my computer to play this disk as I don't want to lose the program saved on the disk, I have installed the program many times before from the disk with no problem and I have stored the disk carefully, I have examined the disk and I cant see any scratches and I have also tried cleaning the disk in case of fingerprints but my computer still refused to see or accept that there is a disk in the drive when I insert this disk, is there any way to make this disk readable again or to write the program onto my computer ?? thanks.
