my daughter is worried as she had her 1st english paper today with 3 questions
she only managed to get half way through question 2 as there was loads to write on each question!!
she has passed her coursework but is now worried she will fail because of this!!
(told her not to worry)
how do they mark them??

tell her not to worry. and she can retake her english at college you know that. ive taken my GCSE and i got a D lol. good luck

Its 35% coursework, 65% exam. She was meant to organise her time so she didn't miss out any questions.. the first question was 12 marks, the second 13 and the last 27 or something (i don't remember exactly, but i sat it today).
Without the last question, she's lost half of her marks already..
and presumably she'll have lost half of the marks for the second question because she didn't finish it.. so that's another 6 or 7 gone.. so it's not looking good, may be a U, or just a VERY low grade.
Sorry to hear it didn't go so well, mine was alright but seriously, her teacher should have told her class how to plan out their time in the exam.. mine did and it was fine.
